Pastor Darrick Rene' Johnson was born on October 7, 1970 in New Orleans, LA to the union of Dr. Sam J. Johnson and Gloria S. Johnson. He accepted Christ at the age of 6 years old and was baptized in August of 1977 at the First African Baptist Church of the 6th District, by the late Dr. C. S. Gordon, Sr. He then moved his membership to Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church No. 2, where his father began Pastoring in June 1984. While at Corinthian he served in various ministries such as Junior Deacons, Youth and Mass Choirs, Finance ministry and Deacon ministry, serving as Youth Choir Director and VBS Worship Leader,

Pastor Darrick Johnson was educated in the Orleans Parish School system where he graduated from Marion Abramson Senior High School in May 1988. He later received an A.S. degree in Computer Information Systems from Delgado Community College and completed studies at Southern University at New Orleans and Christian Bible College.

Pastor Johnson accepted his call to the ministry in December of 1996 and preached his first sermon in January 1997. He was ordained in November of 1999 under the auspices of the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist General Association. On June 29th & 30th, Pastor Johnson was called to pastor two churches within a 24 hour period. The Mt. Kingdom Baptist Church of New Orleans, LA and the Greater Beulah Baptist Church of Baton Rouge, LA. In January of 2005, being led by the Holy Spirit, Pastor Johnson committed himself fully to the Mt. Kingdom Baptist Church. He is an active member of the following : United Baptist Association, Inc., where he serves as the Executive Secretary, Louisiana Missionary Baptist State Convention, National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. and Christian Ministers Union of New Orleans and Vicinity.

He is married to the former Sondleta Monique Brumfield, whom he met and grew up with at Corinthians M.B.C. No. 2. They are the proud parents of Aalayah Rashaun Johnson and Jeremiah Rene' Johnson.
